:(. hope she feels better soon, and takes her time to get back to work the triples girls are concerning me with the health issues recently. i really hope modhaus is actually taking care of them. the artms members have been looking a little off for a while too.. hoping for the best for everyone, and now xinyu especially

I think letting members have rest breaks is actually the positive outcome. There are many kpop companies who force their idols to just push through anything, especially if for instance they are a top group with a small number of members so any break would be noticeable. tripleS also have a news perception problem because they have basically 4-6 idol groups worth of idols, it is like you are compressing all the news that would normally be spread across that many groups into one group. Imagine if it was perceived to be normal for a 4-member group to have one member take some break once every 6 months, scale that up to 24 members and now you would expect it happen once every month.

the thing is that while it's good she's on break before anything terribly serious happened, it's not normal for groups to consistently have members on health hiatuses or seem so consistently unhealthy. artms is having a similar issue to triples with how much weight each member has lost extremely quickly. it's not all about the hiatuses, we're seeing extreme weight loss and members collapsing. how common is it to see idols pass out publicly? that's part of why this hiatus is worrying, the management is worrying. they had triples members saying they were taking care of chaewon, that's mind boggling. they should not be in any way responsible for each other's health privately or publicly. my issue is that modhaus doesn't seem to be set up to adequately account for the medical, mental, and physical condition every single idol they have signed. an early hiatus is good, but overall the situation doesn't seem great. they have so many teens employed, i hope they can provide the best care an idol can have, although of course the lifestyle is unhealthy and detrimental long term anyway :( they should 100% have more days off and of course more sick days, but getting to the point that it requires an entire month straight of no work allowed is concerning to me. hopefully xinyu gets the rest and recovery she needs!! i hope she feels better soon

I think the reason hiatus aren't that common is precisely because kpop companies push their idols to just push through it. If a company doesn't do that and is more relaxed in letting members go on hiatus then by definition there will be a greater occurrence of hiatuses. As far as a numerical figure goes if they have 4-6x the members a 400-600% occurrence would seem like a simple assumption compared to a normal group. If they start being more relaxed and letting them members rest even for more minor things, maybe that goes up to 1,000% compared to a company that pushes its idols to just perform and has a fraction of the members. If a company is really relaxed in letting members go on breaks for issues and has a lot of members, that is directly going to result in a lot more announcements that.. a member has gone on a break.

if agencies were interested in letting their idols rest and recover normally, there would be more days off from work per year and more alloted sick days, not more long term hiatuses. hiatuses are generally for concerning cases, if it's something small and there's nothing scheduled, there's no hiatus. if it's something small and there are public schedules, there's an announcement for those missed schedules. but a hiatus indicates something more serious that requires a total break from all work to focus on recovery. they're also relatively newly normalized in the industry, hiatuses were not common before mina's. they're still treated as more serious as a result of being newer
