The situation
PURPLE KISS's Swan revealed that despite the group's disbandment, all members are still bound to their management company by active contracts until March 2028. This means they cannot pursue solo projects or join other labels. The reason for the disbandment remains unclear, adding to the confusion and frustration.

What the internet did with it

  • Netizens are speculating about the situation, with one commenter saying — "So either their contract ended and they need to wait for the confirmation or they are staying with the company and they changed their name instead to something else", highlighting the uncertainty surrounding the group's future.
  • Theqoo users are particularly pressed, with the general sentiment being that RBW is trying to cut costs by disbanding the group but still holding onto the members, as one user put it, "basically, theyre not gonna be free to do what they want, rbw just wants to stop investing money into them."
  • Swan's post has left fans feeling *답답해* (frustrated and stifled) due to the lack of information about the members' future activities, leaving them wondering what's next for the group.

The open question
The main question on everyone's mind is what will happen to the members after their contracts expire in March 2028, and whether they will be able to pursue solo projects or join new labels without any restrictions from RBW.

To clarify, she still wants to pursue music, just not in a group.

Wish that could've been clarified in the headline, but that sadly wouldn't get as many click I guess. Seeing her posting song covers on YT made me not believe she was leaving entirely like the post implied and honestly, I totally see solo working for her. As much as I absolutely loved PurKi, Swan definitely struck me as the one most likely to do well outside of the group. Her voice is unique and strong, so I hope she gets picked up by a label or even find success doing things fully alone, somehow.
