The situation
BTS' latest activities have been making waves, but a recent milestone achieved by their music video "NORMAL" is noteworthy - it has broken the record for the biggest single day streams for a K-Pop music video in Spotify history. This feat comes on the heels of Taylor Swift's dominance of Spotify's streaming records, including the most streams in a single week. BTS' album ARIRANG, released in March, also landed in the top ten most streamed albums in a single week, with over 500 million streams.

What the internet did with it

  • — "BTS is really proving they still have it, even after the hiatus" - a sentiment reflected in the streaming numbers, which show no signs of slowing down.
  • The record-breaking stream count for "NORMAL" is a testament to the group's enduring popularity and the dedicated fanbase that has been supporting them throughout their career.
  • On Theqoo, the reaction was largely positive, with many fans expressing pride and admiration for the group's achievement, although some users did mention that the *_์‚ฌ์ด๋‹ค_* factor was somewhat diminished by the lack of a music show comeback to accompany the release.

I mean it’s kinda forced since that’s the only place it was released and of course BTS is massive. But good for them, don’t see anyone beating that until another Spotify exclusive maybe their own Also real funny how many YouTube recommendations I’m getting of unofficial channels posting the video. I’ve seen some of those with 500k views

It will be released on YouTube on the 19th. No one was forced to watch it on Spotify. They could have just waited a couple days.

Nobody forced anyone to watch it๐Ÿ˜ญ

This "feat" is being compared to videos that weren't exclusive to spotify. If anyone wanted to watch almost any other MV, they would go to YT, not spotify. No one was forced to watch it, but the people who did want to watch it were forced to do it here.

Or, they could just wait 2 days and watch it on YouTube when it drops there.
