The situation
Five members of BAE173 - Yoojun, Muzin, Junseo, Youngseo, and Bit - have left PocketDol Studio after their exclusive contracts expired on June 30. The agency released a statement respecting their decision to pursue new challenges. This development follows Hangyul's departure in February and Doha's contract suspension in April.

What the internet did with it

  • — "the fact that they're letting them go without a fuss says a lot about the state of the group and the agency"
  • The news has left fans wondering about the future of BAE173, now that J-Min is the sole remaining member, currently on hiatus to promote with CLOSE YOUR EYES.
  • PocketDol Studio's handling of the situation is being compared to their response to Doha's contract suspension, with some netizens on Theqoo noting the agency seems unbothered by the mass departure.

The open question
The status of BAE173 as a group remains uncertain, with J-Min's plans and the possibility of the departed members reuniting or pursuing solo activities under a different agency still unconfirmed. The key detail missing is what J-Min's next steps will be, and whether BAE173 will continue in any form.

Congratulations to the boys for getting out of the dumpster fire known as PocketDol Studio. Wishing all of them the very best in their future endeavors.

So that's it for Bae173. Wishing them nothing but the best going forward

oh my gosh they’re free… I’ve already seen people flaming Pocketdol yet again for releasing this statement 2 weeks after their contracts already ended

I'm glad Yoojun in particular was able to find confidence in himself when he was in Starlight Boys. It's so hard to keep your head up in an industry (and company) that is nothing but cruel and unfair. I hope they all get some good rest. Does this mean that J-Min had to extend his contract with Pocketdol for the duration of CYE?

I think they might just not be saying anything since he's already been gone for so long but there's no way he's willingly going back after what they pulled and it's likely he'll be going into the military around the time CYE finishes activity.

Yoojun's confirmed that the others will be continuing in some capacity, but he's decided to retire from entertainment. You can read more from his last Bubble Live here .
