The situation
Big Hit Music apologized for CORTIS's delayed boarding on a Paris-to-Incheon flight, citing severe traffic congestion caused by a traffic accident. The agency acknowledged the inconvenience to fellow passengers and expressed regret. However, they denied allegations of misconduct, including changing clothes inside the boarding bridge and repeatedly boarding late.

What the internet did with it

  • — "Not just this group any celebrity who does this should simply be banned by airlines. Who do they think they are, making everyone else suffer the consequences?"
  • Theqoo users were largely critical, with some calling out the group's alleged *Youngkeukeu style* (a term implying a sense of entitlement) and others expressing frustration with the lack of accountability from celebrities who cause airport issues.
  • A former fansite operator resurfaced an old complaint about CORTIS's poor time management, which, although unverified, added to the online discussion about the group's behavior.

The open question
The airline has yet to release an official statement confirming the reason for the flight's delayed departure, leaving a gap in the explanation of the events that transpired. The discrepancy between Big Hit's apology and the online allegations remains unresolved, with the public still seeking clarity on the matter.

I got stuck in security one time for a dumb reason and got to the gate over 30 minutes late assuming they were long gone and found the crew holding the plane for me calling my name, and I’m nobody important. It happens. I always assumed the pilots make the decision based on the other passenger’s connection times which they can see through ACARS. Airlines are in the business of getting people where they need to go with minimal rebooking.

I misread my flight ticket and was late, I assumed the gates had closed, only to find out that I was randomly selected for a search and they waited for me. The doors closed pretty much immediately after I boarded. I am also a nobody so I highly doubt they specifically asked the plane to wait and the plane agreed .

There are way too many variables going on for pilots to just make this decision on a whim, especially at busier airports. Decisions like that are not just up to the pilots. The crew also almost certainly wasn't holding the plane for you it was likely delayed anyways.

I've seen it happen a couple times before, for long haul flights it isn't too uncommon.

Yes they were holding the plane for me. The issue started at the check-in desk the agent called the gate and informed them about me. The flight was not otherwise delayed lol. Pilot in command makes the final decision on when the doors close, and I didn’t feel the need to write several more sentences about the complexity of airline logistics.

This happened to me in Tokyo (at HND)! I was at the wrong gate and they came and got me. Held the flight. I’m also nobody.
